Contextual mixed-use scheme, with restaurant, offices and residential.

Location: Hackney Wick, London

Client: Schwartz Holdings 

Completion: 2024

ZCD are developing proposals for a new high quality 6-storey building and basement on a corner site on White Post Lane. Flexible commercial space is proposed for the ground floor and basement, for a variety of uses, from pub to restaurant to gallery and others. Up to 45 studio spaces are planned for the upper floors with a roof terrace over. Providing much needed smaller, more affordable workspaces for the local artist community.

Designs draw on the historic context of the utilitarian construction of Hackney Wick’s numerous 19th Century factories and warehouses, with regular,repeating bays but adding strong contrasting colours on window reveals and metalwork and extensive greening of the facade and roof.
